Cuccio Colours: swatches and review – part 1

Have you ever heard of Cuccio Colours? The huge salon brand that grew out of a suitcase on Venice Beach in California in the 1980-ies? They’ve landed in Sweden now and I’ll be showing you a few of their gems. I’m starting off with four summery shades from the core line.

Cuccio Colors - Mystery in Milan, 2 coats with top coat.

Mystery in Milan is a classic clean white. Two coats for opacity, dry time is normal and the greatest part: no chalkiness. Might be the best white I’ve tried in a very long time.

Cuccio Colors - Cheeky in Helsinki, 1 coat, no top coat.

Cheeky in Helsinki is a slightly warm toned lilac, one of those soft yet bright shades I love so much.  This is a one coater! By far my favourite of the four, I own nothing like it and it has made me re-consider purples. For me, this is a must have.

Cuccio Colors - Meet me in Mykonos, 4 coats, no top coat

Meet me in Mykonos is a sheer blue tinted shimmer. Looks beautiful in the bottle but is probably created for layering. It does build up to opacity in four coats though. Here shown without top coat. I actually like it more than I thought I would after the first coat, it gives my hand a delicate but morbidly dead look, which is something I’m actually not totally averse to.

Cuccio Colors - Venetian Valentine. 3 coats.

Venetian Valentine is a semi sheer warm toned pink, builds up to opacity in three coats. Not the most unique shade but I like the soft feeling. This is a good shade for cleaning your palate in between crazier shades.

Cuccio has several lines other than the regular nail polish, amongst them spa-line Cuccio Naturalé and solvent free LED/UV gel line Cuccio Colour Veneer. If you want to get your hands on these products, or rather get them on your hands, you’ll have to pop by a salon – BUT there is one place in Stockholm where they are easily accessible: Åhlens City.
